Default Newest Project ~ 28' trailer for 2 Rigs

Well, dragged home the trailer from Tippy's place today to start our trailer project. Need to do some frame work on it, along with modifications to meet my design ideas. Right now, the trailer deck is about 28', both Jeeps measure out about 13', so will fit snugly.
Axles need cleaned up, rims sandblasted and powdercoated, and brakes rebuild. Axle spring mounts need replaced as well. Thinking while doing the frame repairs/upgrades switching it to a dovetail style at the rear. Wood deck will be replaced with an open center setup with diamond plate on the sides where drive on.
All lights will be replaced and most likely upgraded to LED's. Thinking adding backup light setup while working on electrical system. All wires will be run in conduit setup under the trailer to keep them neat and out of the way.
Unsure of how I want to do the ramps or storage of them.
Tiedowns will be on both the sides and flush mounted in the diamond plate at the cross member areas for strength.
Will get some before pics tomorrow when it is light.

Good deal. I would have sold you a 32' trailer.

Have thought about that trailer quite a bit. Just out of my price range with not working right now. WIsh I could have bought it.

For those that went to the UP runs, its the double trailer that hauled the Dam Jeep.

Well, it is a very good start on a trailer setup as quite a bit just needs cleaned up. Axles with both having brakes is a good thing that I am glad is there. Deck is wood now, but will become steel (wood will become a bonfire). Have some ideas that I think will work for what I need, will see as I go.

Big thing is replacing the bad sections of the frame and changing it over to an open center setup (which is how my single place trailer is now, a style I like). That and rewiring all the lights as I switch them out to LED's. Thinking of adding a fuse block on the trailer to keep the wiring neat, but not sure. Backup battery for the brakes for sure, along with the winch setup.

Going to plan it out prior to starting and making sure I stick with the plan. Will do the metal work first, starting with the frame repair and upgrades. Then add in the deck plates and ramp setup, followed by the winch and battery mounts. Will replace the trailer jack as well, and add a spare tire holder.

then run conduit for the wiring to keep everything neat and secure.
