Bought my 'new' rig. Thanks Tippy for the help, not as nice as yours, but close.

Very nice, I hear great things from everyone who has an 8100.

Hope to see you out on the trails sometime soon, brutha! How's the motor, I saw you were looking for cylinder heads

Yep. That should work good for you.

Appears that the truck should have about 340 HP and 455 lb-ft of torque.

The Allison Trans is nice in that it can handle GVWRs (gross vehicle weight ratings) up to 19,850 pounds and uses Grade Braking (This means the tranny should downshift on a long grade to slow a load, acting similarly to an exhaust brake or an engine brake on a larger truck.)

Tow rating is 15,900 pounds!! (3,858 pounds in bed capability) Would be higher, but it is 4WD, so it looses a small amount (200-400#).

Now you just need to un cork the exhaust and open up the air box to let it breath better.
Your wallet will appreciate it.
And as far as the trans goes. It is always learning how you drive, what the load it is hauling at the time.
It will help slow down the truck. You just put your foot on the brake peddle enough to turn the brake lights on and the trans will start to slow down your truck. Kind of like a jake brake on a diesel is if you know what that is.
