Simular to this but mine set on the edge of the box rather then in it . This looks to be one of the stirrped bare light models im thinking of though .

Hmm, I need to get my cad program going, came up with a decent little floor plan for one that'd fit my bed pretty well. A 6.5 ft bed would be better, tho.

Figure my main goal is something for me, or one/two of the boys, for the next 5 yr time frame.

I think that if I made the top bed able to slide out into a queen size, then I could sleep up there, and share the bed with Nathan, and Patrick could sleep in the lower bunk. He'd likely be under 5ft in the next 5 years.

Even kinda got a little room for an enclosed porta-potti room I think. Got an idea to make the bathroom wall removable for more space.

I seen a nice one for a 6.5 foot bed for $3000, I can't believe 1' over hang would hurt your vehicle, it wouldnt' even be off your tailgate.

oh, I guess this would hang off a little more,it's for a 6.5 foot bed, but then hang off that by about 1-1.5'
but I bet it still wouldn't be that bad, worst case add some air bags

I think the issue ends up being that weight is so far back, the truck's front end gets light. Even with airbags, its still weight behind the rear axle so gets iffy. FOrd doesn't recommend any kind of camper with my truck.

Funny that it's almost be better with a trailer on, then without, because you could put some 1000lb bars on a WD hitch to help out...
