Default My find of the day

I wasnt looking for it , it found me . Out in BFE at a cabin to do a lock out . seen a 71 cj5 with a dauntless V6 . Asked the guy what he was doing with it and it was headed for scrap Monday . Bought it for 200 . Got it fired up tonight , sounds like new . 30,000 orginal miles but the body is toast .

Granddaughters thought it was christmas and was all over it like a fly on a turd .

These two wanted under the hood so i set them up there with there tools they grabbed .

Im looking around for the 3rd motor head and found her here .

When your in a BIG hurry to get out to the jeep and cant find your shoes just grab a pair of size 13 sandals and get going .

If any one has cj parts , ill be needing plenty . Rear leafs are bad , one side is broken . Body total junk . Drive train is all intact and i suspect all works . Rear brake locked so ill deal with that and test the drive train .

big thing , i need a body . If any one sees a used glass or decent steel body id apprciate letting me know . Ill be wanting a soft top too .

Plan to keep it all stock . No lift or any big tires .

ike new, never installed or drilled or cutouts done. Two front fenders, hood and grille. These are the short fenders, not the longer v-8 style. I would like to get $550.00 or best for all of it.

Just throwing it out there, but would Haggar's old Willy's body fit? Last I knew it was still in his storage.

If not, let me know what years are interchangeable and I'll see what I can find for you Marv

Finding quite a few parts on craiglist but i guess i need to do some educating first . Not sure what years fit what . Looking at " new " tubs looks like 69 to 71 for a tub which happens to be the most exspensive ones . I thought the dang things were the same for a lot longer then that .

You can get new steel say for a 40 to 56 for half the money they want for a 71

Soon as i get some answer ill let ya know . Kind of thought of putting and old willys body on it when i was looking up new tubs . Whole body kit is like 2 K but for the 71 4,500.00

I aint putting that much money in it . Just want to make some thing decent out of it , not a show jeep .

Depending on what site you look at for new it shows like 70 & 71 then the next site shows 68 to 75 the same body .
