I think its going to be a while before I hit $500.

Got some fee 8ft sections of 1/4" wall 2x3 tube. Bumpers! I hope to take it over to a muddin' buddies house on Sunday to make them.

Don't worry there's still two tires on the ground.

Well, finally got the rear shocks off. Had to grind everything off as expected.

Which means I have to drill out the upper mounts since they are the stud type. Not a big deal I hope I think I have enough room for a drill under there.

Hopefully get this done tomorrow along with the fronts and also more trimming on the fenders.
And, I hope to get the bumpers worked on tomorrow night.

Oh, and the cross member for the t-case... acts just like a shovel!! Must have pulled 30lbs of dried up mud from it.

Here is the body work.

Pulled the dented fender down and add a little spray paint to cover the exposed metal and rust.

A thing of beauty.

Bumpers complete. I am happy for a cost of $0.

I left enough room on the rear to use as a place to stand. And also to be able to put gas cans and/or a spare tire... in case this ever becomes a trail truck.

OK, I'm going to question those tow points. look to be welded to the center of the bumpers? who welded? how trustworthy? how will you attach strapps?

to me I'd be worried of a mishap like what happened to Mike/Lisa Cann

Guy who built them is a machine builder. I used to work with him. Very good welder. The are also bent down around the bumper in the back.
