When I brought home the CJ6, it was just a body shell and a frame, thats all. I tore it apart 2 years ago for storage..

The XJ will be done before the CJ6 is started, but I need to bring it home before snow. Once it starts snowing, I don't go up there. Got stuck for 2 hours last time.

Found a better price on my motor with free shipping, so hopefully will order that soon.

But its not really what I want. I don't want to spend 2-3 months working on an engine, and a summer tuning it.

I just don't have time for that. I would rather just go buy the cammed LS3 right from GM, plug it in and be done.

The other thing, is that level of power is going to hurt reliability. The motor isn't going to be as reliable, and at 600+ hp/tq levels, the drivetrain takes a beating.

If I get the LS3 with the hot cam (again, not the best cam, but a good one for street and its already isntalled and tuned by GM), then I will have ~500hp. In a 3000lb vehicle, thats already stupid fast on the street. Like should be capable of low 11s or high 10s. And its just a factory motor with 250k mile durability. Even get a 2 year warranty from GM with it.

Too much extra work is why my scrambler didn't get finished. Trying something different this time.

Trans is in the hands of KillerB working some magic on it. Hopefully after the new year this will start coming together. Going to roll the Scrambler out of the garage and get the XJ started soon, maybe this weekend coming up...
